Few things as perfect as this…. A day at the aquarium with my son and brother
Vay Cay’s Coming to an end….boo hoo. Oh, it has been nice! I took all last week off, the BF came out from South Dakota and we had fun exploring and eating (a lot) and goofing off.
Have you had a chance to stroll through our new plastics gallery in the Open Sea wing? It includes spectacular art installations and photo collages from artists all over the world, created from everyday plastic.
Enjoy the art—and learn what you can do to reduce plastic use!
Happy Anniversary to one of my favorite places!!!!! Yay!
Happy anniversary…to us! On Oct. 20 1984 we celebrated our official opening with marching bands, school floats, mermaids and dancing jellies the length of Cannery Row. We even received a telegram from the president! Thank YOU, since we couldn’t have come this far without your support. To many more!

Need another reason to attend our Jellyfish Jamboree Oct. 13-14? Our stunning crown jellies (Cephea cephea) are at their biggest size ever: six inches! These jellies were a first for any aquarium worldwide when we added them in June, and you can see them at this weekend’s event.
Made plans yet? The magical world of jellies—graceful, dancing drifters that pulse and glow, flash colorful lights and often pack a powerful sting—comes alive in all its wondrous glory during our Jellyfish Jamboree Oct. 13-14!
Now that’s a *wow*
This aquarium is one of my favorite places - it’s odd to see this pic
Did you see it? We were so honored that NASA chose the Aquarium as one of the fly-over sites for Endeavour’s final voyage Friday. Thanks to everyone who came out!
